Why Casa Amor won't happen

Love Island All Stars is almost here and we can't wait for more pies, re-coupling, mugging off and more courtesy of the former Islanders returning for the brand new series. But, did you know another huge twist is on its way?

The ITV series will see Islanders from previous series enter the South African villa for another chance at finding love, but this time, Casa Amor won't be standing in their way for the first time in seven years.

So, why won't Casa Amor be happening and what will replace it? Here's everything you need to know. Thank us later, Love Island fans!

Will Casa Amor happen during Love Island All Stars?

Love Island bosses have confirmed that there will be no Casa Amor during the All Stars series, partly due to the shorter run time of just five weeks instead of the usual eight weeks.

Executive producer, Mike Spencer, told The Sun: "We aren’t doing Casa Amor this time, but there may be another big twist at the halfway mark. I think we have got to be reactive.

"Casa Amor, as we know and love it, doesn’t really work for a five-week run because you need time to bed in, get to know each other, see if they are for you and if you want to switch it up," he continued.

"We aren’t doing Casa Amor this time," say Love Island execs

"Not having Casa gives us a way to shake it up and bring in new islanders in different ways," he continued.

As for what will happen instead, Mike teased new challenges or potential break ups for the Islanders. He said: "We have four new single pull-down beds in the living room this time around, so make of that what you will!"

He added that we can also expect even more drama this time round due to the shorter run time and pre-existing relationships between some of the Islanders, such as Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish.

"As this run is shorter, the pace will be faster and the show will really hit the ground running. These All Star Islanders have a lot of shared histories, so expect the chaos and the drama to happen much quicker."

Next week can't come soon enough!

Love Island: All Stars airs on Monday 15th January at 9pm on ITV1, ITV2, ITVX & STV.
