Who won? And how much did they win?

Contains spoilers

After eight episodes of deception, serious trust issues and Brian's signature cowboy hat, Netflix's The Trust dropped its final episode yesterday, revealing who walked away with the biggest sum of money, and the answer may surprise you.

In the beginning of the Netflix series, 11 individuals were given an equal share of a $250,000 trust, but the catch was they had to decide how amongst themselves to divide the money. Through a series of tests, tough decisions in the vault, and a number of commitment ceremonies, the group got their number down to just five individuals by the time the final episode rolled around.

During the final episode they were all presented with the opportunity to bid on $25,000 from the trust, with the person who bid the highest walking away with that sum of money. Tolú was the only one to accept the offer, and so she bagged an additional $25,000.

By the end of the series, the five members of the group decided to split the remaining $243,000 between themselves.

But throughout the series, there were other opportunities to add to their totals, so who actually received what money in the series? Here's what you need to know about how much money each contestant of The Trust won.

Bryce

Out of the 11 cast members on The Trust, four of them walked away from the show with absolutely nothing.

Juelz was the first one to be voted out of the trust and eliminated in episode one. Simone followed shortly after and left in episode three. After revealing his millionaire status 22-year-old realtor Bryce was voted out of the trust in episode five.

And finally in a very tense show-down in episode seven, Lindsey got herself eliminated just one episode away from the final after Tolú and Gaspare voted for her to be eliminated from the trust, meaning she also walked away with nothing.

Winnie - $20,000

Despite being voted out of the trust by Brian, Jake, Gaspare and Lindsey in episode six, Winnie still managed to walk away from the show with $20,000.

In episode five Winnie had her chance to go down to the vault, where she was accepted the blind offer of being given $20,000 if she is eliminated if no one else is eliminated.

Winnie later ended up being eliminated and so walked away with the cash.

Jay - $25,000

Jay, or Mama Jay as everyone in the house liked to refer to her, walked away from the series with $25,000 after she received and accepted an offer which said if she left the series immediately she would be given $25,000 from the trust. Fair play to Mama Jay.

Gaspare and Jake - $48,600

Jake and Gaspare made it all the way to the final and so they walked away with a fifth each of the final trust amount which was $243,000, and so they got $48,600 each.

As neither of them accepted any offers throughout the series, they didn't add any additional money to their prize fund.

Julie - $63,600

Julie also made it to the final and voted to share the trust with the rest of the group, meaning she automatically got her share of the trust which was $48,600.

She also added an additional $15,000 to that from accepting an offer in episode four. The offer stated she would received $15,000 if the next person she voted for goes home. Julie voted for Bryce in episode five and he left the competition that episode, and so $15,000 was Julie's.

Tolú - $73,600

Coming in with the second highest amount of money from the competition is Tolú, who at the beginning of episode eight chose to bid the full amount of $25,000 that was being offered to the group. As no one else bid, that money went straight into Tolú's pocket.

At the end of the episode she voted to share the remaining money with the rest of the group, meaning she got an additional $48,600, bringing her grand total to $73,600.

Brian - $78,600

And perhaps rather surprisingly, everyone's favourite humble cowboy Brian, was The Trust contestant who walked away with most of the money by the end of the show. And honestly, we couldn't be happier for him.

As he stayed until the end and split the money with the rest of the group he automatically got $48,600.

He also gained an additional $30,000 when he accepted the offer of $30,000 if three random people from the group's votes didn't count at the next commitment ceremony. This then meant Julie, Jake and Brian's votes all didn't count and Brian got $30,000 to keep.

The Trust is available on Netflix now
