Where are the twins now?

Netflix kicked off the new year with a brand new documentary You Are What You Eat, focused on an experiment that tested the impact of certain foods on the body.

In the four-part series scientists conduct an eight-week experiment using four sets of twins. In the experiment one person from each pair of twins, eats a plant-based diet, while the other twin follows an omnivore diet. Throughout the experiment they meet with chefs and personal trainers and uncover more about the food industry.

While there are some initial concerns about switching to a plant-based diet, many of the twins find benefits from following the eight-week plan. But have any of the twins stayed with a plant-based diet? Here's where the You Are What You Eat twins are now.

Where are the You Are What You Eat twins now?

Carolyn and Rosalyn entered the You Are What You Eat experiment with the hope of increasing Filipino representation in scientific studies. Carolyn works as a sports relationship coach and Rosalyn is a teacher.

In the experiment Carolyn was put on the vegan diet, while Rosalyn remained on an omnivore diet. Since the experiment ended they both have remained on an omnivore diet but have increased the number of plant based meals in their diets.

Pam and Wendy are South African twins who run their own catering company and both followed an omnivore diet prior to the experiment.

During the experiment Pam was placed on the vegan diet, and since the experiment ended, while they have both returned to an omnivore diet, they have cut their meat consumption in half and have changed their attitude towards cheese, now having it as a treat rather than as part of their daily diet.

John and Jevon

John and Jevon are twins who have recently graduated from nursing school. When they entered the experiment they were both following an omnivore diet with a heavy focus on meat and protein, thanks to their love of working out.

In the experiment John was put on the plant-based diet. And since the experiment ended they have both returned to the omnivore diet but have almost cut red meat completely out of their diets

Michael and Charlie

Netflix

Michael and Charlie are more commonly known as the "Cheese Twins" thanks to their cheese business, and over the years have appeared on numerous TV shows.

Before the experiment Charlie ate an omnivore diet, while Michael was a pescatarian. Interestingly, Charlie was put on the vegan diet and Michael was following the omnivore diet during the experiment.

Since the series ended Michael is now completely vegetarian, cutting fish out of his diet and Charlie is now 90 per cent vegetarian.
