Parts of the film were shot in Wadi Rum in southern Jordan, a UNESCO World Heritage site also known as the Valley of the Moon.

It's the on-screen home of the Fremen and it's unique, sandy terrain and vast cliffs make it the perfect setting for this sci-fi epic.

Liwa Oasis in Abu Dhabi, UAE also provided the setting for many of the desert shots in Dune: Part Two. Four hours from the capital of Dubai on the Saudi border, it served as both a location and an inspiration for the movie.

"Did it influence the way we shot the movie? Tremendously," the director said to The National News. "I wrote the screenplay then I came to the desert and I designed all the shot according to the landscape," he added. Wow!

Budapest, Hungary

As for the battle scenes between the Fremen and Harkonnen, they were filmed in Budapest, Hungary, according to Collider. While it’s not specified exactly where, the first film was partially shot in the Origo Film Studios’ backlot, so we assume it's the same spot.

Dune: Part Two is in cinemas now.
