The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: What happens to Tigris?

May the odds be ever in your favour, because The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is here.

The prequel follows Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) before his rise to President of the Capitol, as he is tasked with mentoring District 12 tribute, Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler).

Hunter Schafer also stars as Coriolanus older, caring cousin, Tigris Snow. But, what happens to Tigris after the events of the prequel? Here's everything you need to know.

Who is Tigris Snow?

In The Hunger Games, Tigris is the older cousin of Coriolanus Snow. Earlier in her life, her parents died so she went to live with her cousin and their grandmother.

Coriolanus and Tigris were very close and when Coriolanus' parents also died in the civil war, Tigris pretty much became the provider for their family who lost their wealth during the First Rebellion of Panem.

What happens to Tigris after The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes?

In the prequel, we see Tigris share her dislike for The Hunger Games and the Capitol's treatment of tributes like Lucy Gray.

At the end of the film, when Coriolanus returns to the Capitol, she coyly says he looks just like his father and after The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Tigris and Coriolanus' grow apart. Probably because of his thirst for power and involvement in the Games, we think.

In the books, we learn that Tigris became one of the stylists for the tributes of the Games and over the years, she began getting surgical enhancements to make her look more like a tiger, such as flattening her nose and getting tattoos. Because of this, Coriolanus fires Tigris.

Then, we actually meet Tigris in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, where she joins Plutarch Heavensbee's plot to overthrow Coriolanus and the Capitol.

She helps hide Katniss, Peeta, and the rest of the rebels under her shop when they enter the Capitol to assassinate Coriolanus. Here, Katniss says she remembers seeing Tigris in earlier Hunger Games, to which she confirms that Snow had her fired due to her looks.

In the film, Tigris feeds them and goes around the Capitol to collect intel to help them assassinate President Snow. Before they leave, Tigris provides them all with clothes to disguise them as Capitol citizens and after the war, her fate is unknown.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is in cinemas now.
