Netflix Obliterated ending explained: Who is Lana?

If you're looking for a series to get your teeth stuck into this December, Obliterated on Netflix could be the perfect one for you. The 8-part series was recently added to the streaming service, and shows a group of government agents attempting to save Las Vegas from ruin when they realise someone is attempting to destroy the whole city. But what happens at the end of Obliterated?

What is Obliterated about?

*Spoilers* The official Netflix synopsis explains, "A special forces team thwarts a deadly plot in Sin City and parties accordingly. But when the real threat emerges, they must sober up to save Las Vegas."

In the series, government agents Ava Winters, Chad McKnight, Trunk, Maya Lerner, Angela Gomez, Paul Yung and bomb defuser Hagerty are on a mission to defuse a portable nuclear device from a terrorist named Ivan Koslov.

After they think they've disable the nuclear bomb, they go on a massive rager around Las Vegas, only to have to cut short their big night out when they realise the actual threat to the city is still out there. So they have to sober up quick and clear their heads, to work hard to disarm the actual bomb.

What happens at the end of Obliterated?

In the final episode, the team are scattered all over Las Vegas and the Nevada desert. Maya figures out Lana isn't actually who she said she is, and the luggage on the rooftop doesn't actually contain the explosive. Instead, she uses tracking tech to find out Lana has hidden the real nuclear bomb at the Plaza Hotel, within a slot machine.

Maya enlists the help of bomb expert Hagerty, who has had *quite* the day (after being knocked out for hours, to help defuse the situation. He then rides into the casino on a camel, while his new singer wife performs Michael Bublé in the background (yep, really), before disarming the bomb by cutting the correct wire.

The series ends with Chad (Nick Zano) and Ava (Shelley Hennig) finally having sex and finishing what they started in episode one, taking themselves to bed.

So who is Lana?

Lana (played by Alyson Gorske) is introduced as a mysterious blonde woman who was discovered in Ivan's quarters. It's eventually revealed that she's actually Anastasia Koslov, aka Ivan’s sister. Their father was killed by an American airstrike, which is why they wanted to take revenge on Las Vegas. Eventually, Ava and the team are able to get into Anastasia's quarters, where they eventually kill the gang.
