Miss Honey from Matilda is now 50
Ok, so we know 51 isn't particularly old, but does anyone else remember Miss Honey as being, like, 22? Not so much, since actress Embeth Davidtz, who played the best teacher in the whole world ever in the 1996 film Matilda, just celebrated her half-century.
The Roald Dahl adaptation was basically a dream film for those of us growing up in the nineties, and Embeth fulfilled the kind-hearted description of Miss Honey perfectly. Every time our teachers shouted, we wished they were they could be her. Every time our parents told us off for not doing our homework, we wanted her to adopt us. Those were the days.
Now though, Embeth has a pretty badass acting career behind her with roles in films such as The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2, and has just announced that she is about to star in US drama Ray Donovan. Oh, and she also looks pretty gorgeous too.
What a Queen.
