Surprise! Demi Lovato is back at the Met Gala for the first time since getting “banned” (emphasis on those quotes!) eight years ago. The singer showed up on the red carpet wearing a gorgeous silver gown with an epic train by Prabal Gurung for the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Met Gala 101

As a reminder, Demi attended the 2018 Met Gala and opened up about the experience being...less than ideal.

“I had a terrible experience,” Demi told Billboard at the time. “This one celebrity was a complete bitch and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink.”

Demi went straight from the Gala to an AA meeting, and said, “I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on—millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting. And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala—fake and sucking the fashion industry’s dick.”

On top of that, Demi was accused of “shading” Nicki Minaj with those Billboard quotes, but shut this down by tweeting, “Relax...I didn’t shade anyone. If anything, I shaded myself from how awkward I look.”
