30 Aquarius Songs That Suit The Zodiac Sign Perfectly

If you’re anything like me, you didn’t know much about astrology 10 years ago, and now you can literally integrate zodiac talk into any conversation. But that's okay, because you can relate the signs to just about anything. The best form of self-care? Yep, there’s a zodiac interpretation of that. Gifts for special occasions? Of course. Bravo memes? Surprisingly, yes.
And this extends to playlists as well. (Spotify or Apple? IDK, fight that war in the comments.) Today, we’re looking at the air-sign-that-many-mistake-for-water, also known as Aquarius. This air sign is known to be—at best—original, independent, thoughtful humanitarians and—at worst—stubborn, temperamental, and distant. Aka either they’re your best friends or your worst enemies, so play your cards right when dealing with them.
Because they’re ruled by Uranus (the planet of innovation, invention, space travel, etc.), they’re really into being saviors, using their science-y brains to save the world from oncoming doom (re: anyone who works at NASA). I’m being dramatic here, but you get the gist.
Any good Aquarian playlist will include songs about being a confident, independent person who fights to change the world, mixed with tunes about how everyone is dumb and needs to just please go away. Plus, you can’t forget the songs from Aquarian singers like Harry Styles, The Weeknd, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Hit play and get ready to get pumped up…then kinda bummed...and pumped again. It’s the Aquarius way!
“Like Real People Do,” by Hozier
The day that the aliens finally arrive, we should automatically classify all of them as Aquas—regardless of birthdates— because the Aqua people that we have on Earth feel otherworldly anyway. This song is about falling in love while feeling different and just not human, and that should resonate with these folks
“You Don’t Know My Name” by Alicia Keys
Are Aquas shy, or do they just get off from the idea of seeming mysterious and unknowable? Aqua queen Alicia Keys, we’re asking you. QTNA…
"What Was I Made For," by Billie Eilish
If you're not questioning social norms *and* your very existence within the context of humanity at large every 20 minutes...are you even an Aqua? Aquarius Moon Billie said it best on this track: “I don't know how to feel/But I wanna try.”
“Talkin' About A Revolution” by Tracy Chapman
This zodiac sign embodies the spirit of activism. Aquas generally lead their lives less afraid of speaking up against establishments and The Man™. Tracy’s song spends 2:39 minutes highlighting what it means to fight injustice, so it belongs on every Aquarius playlist.
“Fast As You Can,” by Fiona Apple
This song earned a spot on this list because it's about pushing away the people who care about you. An Aqua’s specialty! (Too harsh? My bad.)
“Circus,” by Britney Spears
Unlike their sister sign, Leo, Aquas aren't necessarily on a constant hunt for the spotlight. However, due to their individuality and fresh thoughts, that spotlight seems to find them. Be that the case, Britney's 2008 anthem that proudly claims "All eyes on me in the center of the ring just like a circus" feels relevant for this sign.
“Aquarius,” by Tinashe
Starting with an obvious one: Tinashe is an Aquarius who released an album called Aquarius. It’s only right that the title track is included here.
“She Got Her Own,” by Ne-Yo feat. Jamie Foxx and Fabolous
The R&B singer may be a Libra, but this song's energy screams Aqua through and through. I mean, Ne-Yo's crooning about a woman who’s attractive because she’s independent and self-sufficient. Aquarians, that's you. :)
“Independent Women, Pt. 1,” by Destiny’s Child
This air sign is all about living life independently, and this hit from Destiny’s Child will forever be a theme for just that.
“Run the World (Girls),” by Beyoncé
Beyoncé knows her way around a song about inner strength, obviously.
“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell
Aquarians mean business when it comes to relationships, loyal to a fault. Once they’re attached, sorry, but there’s nothing that’ll get rid of them…not even a mountain.
“Born This Way,” by Lady Gaga
Aquarians are described as original, eccentric, and true to themselves. If we had to identify one song that loudly supports all of those traits, it's Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
”You Need to Calm Down,” by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift’s songs can often be pretty emotionally heavy and open, which is not always how Aquarians like to be (in public, anyway). But “You Need to Calm Down” should appeal to Aquarians’ need for peace.
“Alright,” by Kendrick Lamar
Ah, a classic protest song—one of the greatest, IMHO—perfect for the rebels of the zodiac. Wouldn’t be surprised if this single were on repeat—you can tell this gets them really fired up.
“Fantasy,” by Mariah Carey
It’s a song that involves daydreaming, off an album called Daydream. A creative, daydream-y Aquarius can relate.
“Marvin’s Room,” by Drake
It’s Drake, R&B’s loverboy. Do I need to say more?
“Sign of the Times,” by Harry Styles
Harry Styles is an Aquarius himself, and his song “Sign of the Times” is very thoughtful about comparing the past to the future. Know who likes deep thoughts and introspection? Aquarians.
“Big Yellow Taxi,” by Joni Mitchell
Aquarians are also known for being humanitarians and caring about the environment, so here’s a song about humans screwing up nature for them to sit a stew to. Honestly, how did we let it get this bad?
“Here,” by Alessia Cara
Why be at a party with dumb people when you could just be by yourself with your far superior intellect at home? Alessia Cara might be a Cancer, but she gets it.
“Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” by Kanye West
Basically, Aquarians always think they’re right. Don't fight us, deep down you know it's true too.
“Conceited,” by Flo Milli
The Alabama rapper sings, “Feeling myself, I’m conceited,” for, like, half the song. Is that not Big Aqua Energy?
“Blinding Lights,” by The Weeknd
The Weeknd is an Aquarius and that’s honestly the main reason this song makes the cut, but it is moody, like Aquarians can be at times.
“Whenever, Wherever,” by Shakira
Shakira really channels her Aquarian-ness in “Whenever, Wherever,” which is about love…but, like, an easygoing love that can exist anytime, anyplace.
“American Oxygen,” by Rihanna
A lesser-known single of RiRi’s but just as damn inspiring. A protest song that’ll speak to the heart of any Aquarian working toward change.
“Just a Girl,” by No Doubt
A feminist anthem for an Aquarius who’s ready to fight the patriarchy.
“You May Be Right,” by Billy Joel
Only because “You may be right, I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you’re looking for” is a very Aquarian phrase.
“Savage,” by Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion is another Aquarius artist, and while her song “Savage” has her listing out a few adjectives that could apply to different zodiac signs (“classy, bougie, ratchet”), “moody” stands out for Aquarius.
“Every Day Is a Winding Road,” by Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow—an Aquarius—sings, “I’ve been wondering if all the things I’ve seen
were ever real, were ever really happening,” which is just some introspective Aquarian nonsense.
“The Climb,” by Miley Cyrus
This isn’t an Aquarius playlist without including the OG Aquarian song: “The Climb.” A song about not letting go speaks deeply to the self-sufficient and often stubborn Aquarians.
“Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In,” From Hair
Could we end with anything else?
