Size!

If you aren't getting out your measuring tape before buying furniture...you're doing it all wrong. You should (a) measure out the space you're planning on putting your sofa in, (b) check it against the dimensions of the sofa you're thinking of buying, and then maybe even (c) measure the sofa you currently have in there to see if the new sizing makes sense. It's a process, yes, but it's important!

Seat Depth!

If you're a Tall Person, or just like to sink right into a couch, you're going to want to look for a sofa with a higher seat depth (think: 23" and up).

Price!

As you can tell from this list, prices range greatly for bouclé sofas. If you're planning on moving soon, aren't sure if you want bouclé fabric forever, or are on a budget, you might want to pick a couch on the cheaper side of the spectrum. If you've got a little money to invest and know your couch might end up going through the wringer (Kids! Pets! Wine spills!), consider spending a little extra on a high-quality pick that will last you longer.

Color!

Most bouclé sofas come in a soft white, sand, or gray color. These neutral hues go with damn near every aesthetic, and I love them for that. But if you've got a more ~chaotic~ lifestyle that could dirty up those colors, make sure you're opting for a performance fabric, like one that's machine-washable or liquid-proof. There are also some darker colors on the market (see: the Gwyneth Black Bouclé Loveseat, above) that will hide imperfections a little better too, if you'd rather go that route.
